Jahangirnagar University is different from other universities as it is fully residential, which means students live on campus. It is located in Savar, Dhaka. Unlike all other universities, they do not use a combined admission test. Instead, each faculty and department conducts admission tests. After the exam, they will release the result and if you are on the merit or waiting list, you may be called for an interview. Based on this interview, they will decide who will study which subject.

How to Apply for Jahangirnagar University Admission?
The process of applying for admission to Jahangirnagar University for the academic year 2024-2025 has been simplified and is now available online. Please adhere to the following straightforward steps:

- After completing the form, you will get a bill number for the application fee.
Step 2: Payment
- Pay the application fee through DBBL Mobile Banking.
- Dial *322# from your Rocket Account.
- Choose payment, then bill pay.
- Enter Biller ID 343 for Jahangirnagar University.
- Input the bill number, amount, and PIN to complete the payment.
- Keep the Transaction ID (Txnid) for the next step.
To pay for Jahangirnagar University using bKash:
- Enter your bKash account number on the display and accept the terms by selecting “CONFIRM.”
- bKash will dispatch a code to your account through SMS. Please input this code on the payment interface.
- Complete the payment using your bKash PIN. If successful, you’ll get a confirmation SMS. Download the payment receipt from “Profile” under “Payslip.” Remember, this is not an admission card, just a receipt.
To pay using Rocket:
- Enter your Rocket account number and PIN on the screen, then press “SUBMIT.”
- Rocket will send a security code via SMS. Enter this code on the payment screen and press “GO.”
- If the payment is successful, you’ll get a confirmation SMS. Download the payment receipt from “Profile” under “Payslip.” This receipt is not an admission card, just proof of payment.
Step 3: Upload Photo and Signature
- Upload a color photograph (300×300 pixels) and signature (300×80 pixels) within 100 KB.
- Use the bill number and Transaction ID (Txnid) obtained during payment.
- Collect your admission test admit card.

Jahangirnagar University Admission Test Exam Seat Plan

JU Admission Test Mark Distributions
Candidates will be evaluated on a scale of 100 marks. The assessment is divided into two components: 80 marks allocated for the admission test and 20 marks based on the results of the SSC and HSC examinations.
- 80 Marks (Admission Test):
- The admission examination is allocated a total of 80 marks, with each question carrying a value of 1 mark. Candidates will be given 55 minutes to complete all questions, along with an extra 5 minutes designated for submitting the OMR sheet. A penalty of 0.20 marks will be imposed for each incorrect response. The minimum passing score is set at 27 out of 80.
- 20 Marks (SSC & HSC GPA):
- The calculation of the 20 marks for SSC and HSC results is performed using the following formula: (HSC GPA multiplied by 2.5) plus (SSC GPA multiplied by 1.5) equals 20.
